Escape 1

Covering her head with the cotton scarf she walked around the drawing room presenting the refreshments.
Feeling her fathers eyes digging into her by the second. Tearing her soul apart.
Just another hour and she will leave.
She will, walking down the corridor she thought to herself.
She had to make preparations. Some calculations.
This house has always been this crowded. Muscular men at every door of the house, watching God knows what.
And the rooms filled with bearded men. Religious and pious to be very precise, with very unpious intentions.
So she took a run for it.
Grabbed her baby brother and her baby sister first,
Asked the other two to meet her at the corner of the street.
Covering her head with a huge 'chadar' She asked the 'chawkidaar' to let her out.
He had seen her grow up, he had seen her mother grow up, he had been more like a father than her own father could ever be.
He let them out.

Looking sideways, covering half of her face with the dupatta she walked cautiously towards the empty plot right in front of her house.
And then next thing she knew, she was trying to fit both her baby siblings into a hollow log and topping it with lots of sand.
They will never be able to find them here. She thought while pushing the log into the curve of the rock. Making sure they were safe.

" Saans lete rehna, main tum dono ko lene aungi. Wadah"

and she ran away
